This MGA takes its name from a part of the Village of Monforte d’Alba where the very particular microclimate together with the properties of the soil give this area outstanding completeness and balance. According to tradition it is aged in wood casks and it is characterized by an intense bouquet of red fruits. On the mouth it is elegant, well-structured and round with spicy and floral notes.

VINEYARDSMunicipality of Monforte d'Alba in the Perno area.The Perno hamlet is located in the municipal district of Monforte d'Alba and is one of the most prestigious areas in the Barolo territory. Here our vineyards are characterized by tuffaceous soil with layers of red soil, sand and clay which date back to the Helvetian era.

WINE-MAKINGA patient bunch thinning together with the thirty-year-old vines low production are the basis from which the cellar work starts.Long controlled temperature macerations.


AGEINGAgeing in wood and then in bottle give the Barolo Perno unique features.


TASTING NOTES The colour is deep red with garnet hues and the nose has hints of red fruits with spicy notes and a light touch of mineral and toasted.Once inside the mouth, the fullness, acidity and fruity notes are well balanced, leaving space for a great end with important tannins. Further refinement in the bottle gives the wine evolving notes of wood and leather.


 It is a longevity wine able to further transform its olfactory and gustatory sensations over the years.
